Phosphate rock concentrate is produced in various parts of the world, although approximately 67% of production is located in just three countries. The largest producer is China, with 37% of world production in 2010, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The next largest producers are the United States and Morocco/Western Sahara, both with 15% of world production.
The bulk of the world's phosphate rock reserves are similarly concentrated in a few countries.
